Texas Rockfest 2008 Lineup is Posted

The 9th Annual Texas Rockfest will showcase over 150 of the best indie artists/bands on March 13-15, 2008, featuring talent at four Austin venues, including the outdoor Guitar Hero III stages located at 613 Trinity (between 6th and 7th Streets.) Additional Texas Rockfest 2008 showcases will be featured at the Spill on Sixth (212 E. Sixth Street), Merkaba Lounge (14106 North IH-35) and Rock City Icehouse (1-35 @ Hwy 290 in Lincoln Village).

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock shows support for independent bands by teaming with Texas Rockfest 2008 to showcase over seventy of the best indie bands from Austin and beyond on two outdoor stages in downtown Austin, March 13-15, 2008. All shows are absolutely FREE to the public! No badges, no wristbands, no joke. It's just one more good reason for music industry executives to look "outside-the-badge" for the best in indie talent.

Also known as the Heart of Texas Quadruple Bypass (HOTQB) Music Festival, the annual Texas Rockfest runs concurrently with Austin's annual 10-day interactive, film and music mega conference event that draws thousands of music industry and new media types to town during spring break.

On Wed. Mar. 12 (6:00 pm-2:00 am), the Texas Rockfest ventures into the harder zone presenting the Dime Bag Darrell Metal Night at the Spill on Sixth with Clinched Fist, Fear Control, Fallen Breed, Kritickill, Slick Fist, Lame, Quartershackle, By Any Means Necessary, Meyvn, Powderburn and Carbide.

How good of a guitar slinger are you? Come try your mad skills in the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock tent, or if you think you're badass enough, join the Guitar Hero Competition nightly on stage at 7:30 pm, 8:40 pm and 9:50 pm; with the final event on Sat., Mar. 15 at 11:00 pm.

All shows are subject to change, so keep track of your favorite band playing at the 2008 Texas Rockfest, plus find band bios, music, photos, and links to band websites at TexasRockfest.com or at myspace.com/texasrockfest.
